Benefits of Knowing Who You Are
A large part of what I do is help you get to know yourself better.
Here are 5 amazing benefits of knowing who you are and why it matters!
Decisions easily made
Not only are they easier to make, but you make better ones.
When you go on an adventure of self discovery you quickly start to find out all of the things you actually like and don't like about yourself and the world around you. It is like you're gathering a bunch of information about you, and then you can go and make decisions based off of the specific information you have on yourself.
That's only possibly if you get to know who you are at this stage in you life though. It really is worth the ease that comes with deciding, and knowing why you are making that decision and whether or not you like your reason for making that decision.
It also means you don't have to feel so overwhelmed about making decisions and let dread build up around things that you don't want to wait to make decisions on. It also means you stop letting or hoping for other people to make decisions for you. You really do get to take your power back and this is one of the clearest signs that that has happened!
Not needing validation or worrying what others think
Because you see yourself. Letting yourself be seen for who you truly are right now is a really beautiful thing to experience no matter what you are going through because it means you are seen and you don't have to rely on other people to make you feel seen.
Seeing yourself where you are now is letting yourself start where you are and know who you are in this moment and what you are capable of.
If you consistently are unwilling to see the person you are right now and are trying desperately to get to a happier place, stop. It is incredibly hard to get anywhere if you can't even see where you are, you can't actually do the things you need to do to make anything change. And instead you just end up fantasizing about a different life.
Knowing who you are means that you again get to take your power back and live in your now, and decide from a place of knowing if and what kind of changes you want to make.
You no longer need to worry about what other people think, when you stop judging yourself and just start seeing yourself instead.
Confidence
Because you are making better decisions for you, you are able to build your confidence. It is really hard to build confidence when you are constantly second guessing yourself. When you get to know who you are, it takes the constant guessing out of making decisions and you can start to live in a state of calm. You are also better able to reassure yourself around the things you do and choose, and the decisions you make because you know that you were acting on behalf of yourself.
A fulfilling life
You are creating a life intentionally and on purpose instead of one based on what you think you should be doing based on societal norms or pressures when you get to know yourself.
It is a lot easier to create the life of your dreams when you actually know your starting point, and are willing to allow yourself to start where you are.
And because you are doing things intentionally and on purpose you don't have to beat yourself up if you get something wrong. You're able to recognize that you did the best for you, with what you knew at the time, and now you know even better.
I felt way more fulfilled when I let myself do and choose things that may not have been the societal norm, but I knew would either work best for me or be the most aligned for me.
And on that note, you're also willing to try more things instead of just doing the things you think you should be or have to do. It expands the possibilities in your life 1000x.
More willing to receive and give help
When you know yourself you're going to know where your strengths lie and where they don't. You'll be able to ask for help when you need it and not make it mean that you're a failure. Instead you'll be able to recognize that this is an opportunity for you to grow and become stronger.
This will also allow you to be more compassionate and empathetic to the unique struggles everyone faces and how you can best support people in your life from a place of abundance.
It's exactly like the cliché saying goes, "You can't pour from an empty cup.".
Fill your cup with knowledge about who you really are so that you can completely change your life and have an amazing impact on those around you.
